The Subaru Impreza achieved an August record of 1120 sales, up 30.7 per cent on the same month last year, according to official VFACTS figures released today.

Total Subaru sales of 2602 included 952 Foresters, maintaining its best-selling status across all SUV categories year-to-date.

With the changeover of Liberty (Legacy) and Outback to new generation MY10 models just starting, stock was extremely tight in August, with Subaru retailing 269 Libertys and 168 Outbacks.

The Subaru result was rounded out by sales of 93 Tribecas.
