(MISSISSAUGA) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce that it set an all-time monthly sales record in August with sales of its lineup of symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive vehicles reaching 1,940 units, up 4.2 percent over last August. A strong start to sales of the brand new 2010 Subaru Legacy and Outback and continued sales of the Subaru Forester contributed to this month's successful sales results.
The third-generation 2010 Subaru Forester experienced a record-breaking month as Forester sales climbed to 725 units, up 32.1 percent over last August. The all-new 2010 Legacy and Outback model lineup also garnered plenty of consumer interest this past month. Although August was only the first full month of sales for Legacy and Outback, consumers are responding positively to the improvements made for 2010. Both Legacy and Outback are now larger, more fuel-efficient and lower in price than the previous model year.
"We're pleased to see that consumers recognize our unique position in the marketplace," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI. "All Subaru vehicles provide a winning combination of trusted Japanese reliability, class-leading safety standards, superior handling and performance as well as the driving confidence that comes from standard Subaru symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive and our SUBARU BOXER engine technology."
