A strong performance in regional markets and the continued success of new generation Impreza and Forester models underpinned Subaru’s April sales result of 2999 vehicles. Highlights include:
NSW
1276 Subarus sold, a 12.5 per cent increase on last April giving Subaru a 6.5 per cent market share.
Standout performances included Impreza, up 59.6 per cent for the month and Forester up 44.7 per cent year to-date (YTD).
TAS
Tasmanian sales of 130 were up 9.4 per cent YTD, with Subaru claiming an impressive 11.3 per cent market share for the month.
Forester sales dominated, up 12.8 per cent on the same period last year.
Combined, Forester and Outback captured a formidable 47.4 per cent share of the Compact SUV segment.
ACT
74 Subaru sales represented a 6.8 per cent market share and a 17.5 per cent increase on April 2008.
Forester sales were up 43.9 per cent YTD and when combined with Outback sales represented 30.9 per cent of the Compact SUV segment for April.
Impreza also ranked highly in the small car segment with 32 sales - a 20 per cent increase YTD.
Sales in Victoria (586), Queensland (485), Western Australia (277) and South Australia (154) also contributed to the impressive April result.
