Subaru claims highest ranking in two segments, fourth place overall.
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - ALG has announced its first-ever Canadian Residual Value Awards, honouring the vehicles in each segment predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional retail lease. Subaru placed first in two segments: Impreza won the Mid-Compact Car category, and the Impreza WRX STI won in the Sporty Car category.
The awards are based on 2009 model year vehicles. ALG also has included awards for the brands that have the highest overall predicted resale values among all mainstream and all luxury vehicles. The awards are derived after carefully studying segment competition, historical vehicle performance and industry trends, and are based on analysis using only Canada-specific data.
"This is exciting news for Subaru," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "ALG's predicted residual values across the Subaru lineup reinforce the essential attributes of the Subaru brand-durability, reliability and safety-all at a great value."
Based in Santa Barbara, California, ALG is a leading provider of data and consulting services to the automotive industry. ALG publishes the "Automotive Lease Guide," the standard for Residual Value projections in North America, and has been forecasting automotive residual values for over 37 years in both the U.S. and Canadian markets.
"We believe Residual Value remains the best metric for evaluating the overall strength of an automotive brand, and we congratulate Subaru for the proven success," said John Blair, Chief Executive Officer of Automotive Lease Guide.
