Subaru sales records

Jul 5 , 2006 [Australia]
Subaru achieved all-time record sales of 3901 vehicles in June, according to official VFACTS figures released today.

The previous best brand result was 3874 in June 2005.

Last month was also an all-time record for Impreza, with 1027 sales, a massive 19.6 per cent ahead of June 2005.

Sales of 1403 Foresters meant it was the first time two Subaru models have achieved 1000+ sales in one month.

Liberty sales of 747 were up 12.8 per cent on the previous June and Outback increased 8.9 per cent with 724 sales, achieving its second best-ever month.

Combined Outback and Forester sales gave Subaru a dominant 25.8 per cent of the SUV Compact category in June.

Subaru's market share for the month was 4.0 per cent.

Subaru Managing Director, Nick Senior, said: "We're delighted by our sales success in June."

"The fact that we had two models achieving more than 1000 sales is a great indication of the level of interest in Subarus."

"We're convincing increasing numbers of people that they buy into a long-term beneficial relationship when choosing a Subaru."

"That's been highlighted recently by Forester being named safest used car of the past 17 years, our 2.5 litre turbocharged engine winning an international engineering award and Outback and Forester receiving recognition for outstanding retained value."

"We also work hard to bring genuine value and specification improvements with the passing of each model year and 2006 is no exception, as we head towards revised Liberty and Outback, including reintroduction of the Liberty GT in September."
