Liberty (Legacy) has vision, says NRMA Insurance study

Feb 22 , 2005 [Australia]
The Subaru Liberty (Legacy) sedan has rated highest among medium cars for driver vision, in a study released today by NRMA Insurance.

The Model Year 2005 Liberty (Legacy) rated four stars, ahead of Toyota Camry sedan (four stars) Mazda6 (three), Honda Accord Euro (two) and Peugeot 407 (two),

Subaru Forester also rated four stars in the 4WD category.

The NRMA Insurance study measured blind sports in around 80 of Australia’s top selling cars, examining pillars and mirrors.

A five-star rating system was developed to rank vehicles in nine categories from small cars to utes. No car in the study was rated five stars.

Driver field of vision is a key aspect of every Subaru design.

All Subaru wagons have a U-shaped rear window, to meet the brand’s own design criteria that demands a one metre-tall child be visible to the driver from the rear-view mirror.
