Subaru achieved record April sales of 3015 units according to official VFACTS figures released today.

The figure is 9.0 per cent ahead of the previous April and takes Subaru to a record 12,129 sales for the first four months of a year.

Subaru's market share for the month and year-to-date was 3.9 per cent.

Leading the Subaru charge was Forester with 936 sales, 6.7 per cent up on April 2004.

Impreza sales of 887 units were an April record for the model and 13.7 per cent ahead of the same month last year.

Liberty(Legacy) sales of 704 were an impressive 27 per cent ahead of April 2004.

Outback sales of 488 combined with Forester to again give Subaru monthly dominance of the SUV Compact market segment, with 26.7 per cent.
