Subaru's record May brings model milestones

Jun 3 , 2005 [Australia]
Subaru achieved record May sales of 3070 vehicles, according to official VFACTS figures released today.

Leading the charge was Forester with 936 sales, which also took the model over a cumulative total of 70,000 since launch in 1997.

It was closely followed by Impreza with 910 sales - an impressive 210 units ahead of the same month last year and a May record. The figures also took Impreza over the 70,000 sales total.

Liberty (Legacy) sales of 626 were 92 ahead of May 2004.

Outback achieved its best ever May result with 598 sales.

Combined Forester and Outback sales again made Subaru dominant in the SUV Compact segment, with 24.4 per cent of the May market.

Subaru's market share year-to-date is 3.8 per cent and May was the brand's fourth consecutive month of 3,000-plus sales.
