Subaru sets new sales record

Subaru achieved an all-time sales record of 3874 units in June, according to official VFACTS figures released today.

The figure is 12.0 per cent ahead of June 2004 and takes Subaru's total first half sales to 19,073, an increase of 9.0 per cent over the same period last year.

Subaru's market share for the month and year now stands at 3.8 per cent.

Forester recorded its best-ever monthly sales - 1688 units, beating its previous record of June 2004 by 212 units.

Impreza had its best June result, with 859 sales, 99 up on June last year.

Liberty(Legacy) sales of 662 were 24.9 per cent up on June 2004, while Outback with 665 sales also contributed strongly to the overall result.

Combined Forester and Outback sales mean Subaru achieved a record monthly market share of 29.4 percent in the SUV Compact segment.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: "This is a strong result and with our model year 2006 launch phase about to start with Forester this month, we're confident of a strong run to year-end."
