To celebrate the win by Subaru World Rally Team's Petter Solberg in the 2003 World Rally Drivers Championship, Subaru is releasing a special edition of the legendary Impreza WRX, at Melbourne International Motor Show (27 February – 8 March).
The road-going Petter Solberg Impreza WRX shares the same basic platform as Solberg's world-beater and just 200 of the special edition sedans are available.
It sports the same WR Blue colour as the SWRT car that carried Solberg to victory.
Featuring a silver sports gearshift knob, Petter Solberg WRC console badge and key ring, the special edition has the famed Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and 168 Kilowatt turbocharged horizontally opposed boxer engine that has made Impreza WRX an automotive icon and a rally winner for both Subaru Rally Team Australia and SWRT.
Also at the show, motor sport fans can meet Australian Rally Champion Cody Crocker on the Subaru stand between 3-5pm on Saturday 6 March.
Cody will be interviewed on the stand and will be signing Subaru merchandise.
Other Subaru highlights at the show include a dedicated Subaru Tecnica International (STI) display, where the latest leading-edge parts and accessories for the Impreza WRX STi will be on show.
The new generation Liberty (Legacy) and Outback, together with Forester and Impreza, will also be displayed in a variety of models.
