The Subaru Outback 3.0R has received an equal top four-star rating in a road test published in Wednesday's motoring section in The Australian newspaper.

In addition to the overall rating, Outback 3.0R received four stars for performance, and three and-a-half stars for value.

The report said: “Traditional wagons can’t get close to the Outback on graded dirt and off-roaders feel clumsy by comparison on the tarmac – and the new model widens the gap further. It’s the cross-over for driving.”
