See five star Subarus at Adelaide Motor Show

Mar 31 , 2004 [Australia]
The opening of the Adelaide Motor Show today (March 31) gives South Australians the chance to see close-up the Subaru safety features that have resulted in independent five-star crashworthiness ratings for new generation Liberty (Legacy) and Outback.

A Liberty (Legacy) GT and Outback 3.0R are being displayed on the Subaru stand at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds.

Last week the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) announced that Liberty (Legacy) and Outback had achieved the highest-ever five-star ratings in their independent crashworthiness testing.

Also on display in Adelaide are the Forester XS and turbocharged Forester XT. Forester is the most awarded car in Australian automotive history.

A special edition Petter Solberg Impreza WRX is displayed too, along with an entry-level Impreza GX.

To celebrate the win by Subaru World Rally Team's Solberg in the 2003 World Rally Drivers Championship, the road-going Petter Solberg Impreza WRX shares the same basic platform as Solberg's world-beater and just 200 of the special edition sedans are available.

It sports the same WR Blue colour as the SWRT car that carried Solberg to victory.

Featuring a silver sports gearshift knob, Petter Solberg WRC console badge and key ring, the special edition has the famed Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and 168 Kilowatt turbocharged horizontally opposed boxer engine that has made Impreza WRX an automotive icon and a rally winner for both Subaru Rally Team Australia and SWRT.

The Adelaide Motor Show runs from today, 31 March, until Sunday 4 April, at Royal Adelaide Showgrounds.
