Subaru reports June sales increas

Successful launch sees Legacy and Outback sales highest this year and up 23 percent from previous year

CHERRY HILL, N.J., July 1, 2004, -- Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today reported a slight increase in total sales for June with 16,217 units. Legacy sales reached a high point for this year and were up 23 percent from the previous year with the successful launch of the completely redesigned 2005 Subaru Legacy and Outback.

"We are pleased with the positive momentum in Legacy and Outback sales," said Fred Adcock, executive vice president, Subaru of America, Inc. "We expect to see this trend strengthen with improved availability of the 250 horsepower, Legacy 2.5 GT sedan and wagon models.

"The Legacy model line posted 8,405 units, while the Subaru Outback recorded strong sales of 6,226 units for the month. Subaru Forester posted 4,574 units in June. The Impreza line recorded 2,629 unit sales, while Subaru Baja recorded sales of 609 units for the month.
