2004 Outback Sport - the new look of Impreza

        Feb 12 , 2003 [Canada]
Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today unveiled the 2004 Outback Sport, safer and better equipped than ever, and now with sporty new styling cues from the rally-bred Impreza WRX.

The new front end starts with the addition of larger headlights, now combined in a 4-element arrangement to create a bolder, more aggressive appearance. To maximize airflow, Subaru World Rally Team designers added sharp edge character lines beginning at the headlamp and grille area and extended them onto the redesigned hood. All 2004 Imprezas have revised air inlets on the front fascia, and the Outback Sport features projector beam halogen fog lamps as standard equipment. The tail lights and rear bumper are also redesigned and the total effect blends rally-bred performance with Outback’s go-anywhere versatility.

“The Outback Sport has always stood out from the competition for safety and All-Wheel Drive balance and confidence,” said Osakabe. “For 2004, we’ve added a new helping of style that reflects its excellent power and handling.”

In addition to the new exterior design, the 2004 Outback Sport has been fitted with new rear disc brakes and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). Inside, new front seats with Subaru’s Active Head Restraint System helps guard against whiplash injuries in the event of a collision, and new instrumentation, a new audio system and redesigned interior trim reflect the sporty new sheet metal.

As always, the Outback Sport is well equipped loaded with popular comfort and convenience features, such as keyless entry; power windows, door locks and heated mirrors; heated seats; roof rack and more.
