The Subaru Forester was chosen as the year’s Best Compact SUV by TSN’s automotive enthusiast program Motoring 2003. Making the choice a clean sweep, Forester was also category favourite with the show’s viewers. The announcement was made on Motoring’s annual awards show.

“Roominess and a stiff body combined with the best all-wheel drive system offered were the factors that took Forester to the top in this category,” said Motoring’s Graeme Fletcher. “Nobody does it better than Subaru.”

The Forester took top spot in the category against the Land Rover Freelander and the Kia Sorento.

“We are delighted to accept this honour from Motoring 2003,” said Norio Osakabe, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Subaru Canada, Inc. “It is equally exciting to know that it was the choice of viewers as well as the professional reviewers. It’s a great tribute to Forester that it is able to please such a wide range of demanding critics.”
