Subaru Legacy and Forester: intellichoice best values

Mar 14 , 2003 [Canada]
Two popular Subaru models have been identified as the best overall value in their respective classes for the 2003 model year by IntelliChoice, Inc. Legacy was named the best Midsize/Large Wagon, and Forester won the Compact SUV over $20,000 category.
This is the 17th year IntelliChoice has published its annual car and truck cost guide, projecting ownership expenses during the first five years of ownership.
"Automotive companies increasingly recognize that cost of ownership is a concern for owners so it's very gratifying to learn that Forester and Legacy have achieved best-in-class honours," said Norio Osakabe, president, chairman and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "This is a direct tribute to the robust integrity and ease of maintenance inherent in Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive System."
IntelliChoice arrives at the cost of vehicle ownership by considering a number of crucial factors including purchase price, depreciation, fuel consumption, repair costs, fees and other factors during the five years immediately following the vehicle's purchase. The company believes that IntelliChoice winners are vehicles that will cost significantly less to own than competitors in their segments.
Subaru Canada, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the company markets and distributes Subaru vehicles, parts and accessories through a network of approximately 100 franchised dealers across Canada.
