        Subaru of America, Inc. reports best March sales in company's history

        Total sales up 29 percent from last year

        CHERRY HILL, N.J., Apr. 1, 2003 -- Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA), the only manufacturer to have all-wheel drive as standard equipment on every vehicle they make, today announced March sales of 17,614 units. The total represents a 29 percent increase from March 2002, the best March sales result in the company's history.

        "March was a tremendous month for Subaru, marking our best March sales ever," said Fred Adcock, Subaru Executive Vice President. "Enthusiasm for the brand remains strong and we anticipate momentum to continue with the launch of our new national advertising campaign 'Driven by What's Inside', featuring Lance Armstrong, which debuts later this month."

        The Legacy model line achieved a sales total of 7,433 units, up 21 percent, while Subaru Outback recorded sales of 4,980 units for the month. Subaru Forester recorded sales of 5,448 units, a 48 percent increase from March 2002. The Impreza line recorded sales of 3,543 units for March, while the Baja model recorded its best ever total of 1,190 units for the month.
