Pat Richard and co-driver Ian McCurdy claimed their second victory of the 2003 Subaru Canadian Rally Championship, winning the Rallye Baie des Chaleurs, near New Richmond, QuŽbec. Richard drove his 2003 Subaru Impreza STi across the finish line well ahead of Andrew Comrie-Picard in a Mitsubishi EVO4. Third place was taken by the brother-sister team of Julien and Marie-Eve Pilon, who triumphed over more experienced drivers with more powerful cars in their 2002 Subaru WRX.
Sixth place overall, and second place in the P4 class was taken by Subaru's John and Clark Paynter in a Subaru WRX Sport Wagon.
The 2003 season continues to be a busy one for the Subaru Canada Rally Team members. Richard travels to Germany for the World Rally Championship's Rally Deutschland on July 25. McGeer will continue the defence of his North American rally title at the Maine Forest Rally on August 1. Both plan to return to QuŽbec on September 5, for the Rallye Defi Ste-Agathe, the seventh event of the 2003 Subaru Canadian Rally Championship.
