[Australia] April Showers Subaru With Sales Success

Subaru’s record-breaking sales momentum continued last month with 3854 sales, achieving a new April record, according to official VFACTS figures.

Subaru was one of just four top 10 automotive brands showing growth last month, up 22.1% over April 2016.

Year-to-Date (YTD) Subaru sales are up 11.3%, with a market share of 4.6% for both the month and YTD. That contrasts with the overall market, down 5.1% for April and 2.8% YTD.

New generation All-Wheel Drive Impreza continued its charge in the small car class, with 1022 sales – up 177.0% for the month and 123.8% YTD.

Best seller for Subaru in April was the evergreen Forester with 1054 sales, while Outback maintained its strong performance with 896 sales, up 11.3% for the month and 4.0% YTD.

In the sports car market, BRZ sold 62, up 87.9% for the month and 41.9% YTD.

Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: “Our range continues to resonate with buyers Australia-wide and it’s a trend that’s continued throughout the first third of 2017.

“Impreza growth is all the more impressive because of the first time customers it’s bringing to Subaru, particularly with the younger audience.

“With new generation XV already generating huge interest before first deliveries in June, we can see great potential for the second half of the year too.”
