[Australia] Record September for Subaru

Subaru achieved record September sales of 4050 vehicles, according to official VFACTS figures released today.

Strong performances from both the passenger car and Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) range saw Subaru All-Wheel Drive sales up 11.8% for the month and 8.9% year-to-date (YTD).

The biggest seller for Subaru was Forester, with a tally of 1126, up 8.1% for the month and 16.7% YTD.

It was closely followed by Outback with 1042 sales, up 11.1% for the month and 7.6% YTD.

Rounding out the SUV result was XV, up an impressive 29.7% for the month with 585 sales, placing it 9.7% ahead YTD.

Star performers in the passenger car range were the recently launched Levorg wagon, with 399 sales and WRX with 390, up 31.8% for the month.

Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie said: "There's clearly customer interest across the Subaru range and notably the turbocharged Levorg wagon has made strong gains, while WRX remains equally effective in the showroom.

"With Impreza and BRZ very much in run-out mode, we're quietly confident of ongoing customer interest as new generation Impreza approaches in December and revised BRZ in the coming weeks."
