[Australia] July High For Subaru

Subaru achieved record July sales of 3354, according to official VFACTS figures published today.

The monthly total was up 7.5 per cent on July last year and means the brand is up 8.0 per cent year-to-date (YTD).

The new sales record surpasses the July 2010 total of 3253.

Standout performer was Outback, with 845 sales, up 306.3 per cent for the month and 311.6 per cent YTD.

Liberty sales of 310 were up 229.8 per cent for the month and 251.5 per cent YTD.

Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, said: "This result is driven by the unprecedented success of the new Outback.

"After seven months on sale, it continues to motor along at an incredible rate.

"This year we have sold 6310 Outbacks, an increase of nearly 312 per cent on the YTD figure this time last year.

"Liberty is also performing well, up almost 252 per cent to 2415 YTD.

"Particularly satisfying is that our premium versions of Liberty and Outback are the volume sellers.

"Also, we have seen an amazing array of trade-ins, reflecting that we are attracting new customers to the Subaru brand."

Also continuing its turbocharged sales performance is WRX with 271 sales, putting it ahead 7.7 per cent YTD.  Forester was another strong contributor, with 1001 sales.
