[Australia] Subaru Sales Sore On Apple Isle

Subaru's new generation Outback has captured Tasmanian hearts, becoming the best-seller in its segment in February, according to official VFACTS sales figures.

All-Wheel Drive Outback sales of 41 were up more than 355 per cent for the month, dominating the Large SUV < $70k market segment.

Total Tasmanian sales of 130 Subarus in February increased 80.6 per cent on the same month last year, making Subaru the second best-selling brand for the month, with a 9.2 per cent market share.

Other strong sellers for Subaru were XV, with 57, up 103.6 per cent, and new generation Liberty (Legacy), with 18 sales, making it the best-seller in the Medium Car < $60k segment.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: "Tasmania has long been a fantastic market for Subaru All-Wheel Drive and the February figures are clear proof that our new generation vehicles are firm favourites.
