Subaru is involved with the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics through its sponsorship of the Subaru – Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers. Traveling Trainer Team East and Team West hold outdoor classes at national parks, forests, colleges and universities, trade shows and even retail centers, where they provide instruction on the principles of Leave No Trace. The outreach and training programs are custom-tailored to the audience – from youth groups to experienced hikers.

An international set of ethics (“Principles of Leave No Trace”) is at the heart of the training:

- Travel and camp on durable surfaces
- Dispose of waste properly
- Leave what you find
- Minimize campfire impacts
- Respect wildlife
- Be considerate of other visitors
